ChiHomework is a home-record service, primarily so Cook County homeowners have a documented record of their home to rely on when they buy or sell. As a secondary service, ChiHomework also helps homeowners connect with local contractors for repairs and upgrades, and with real estate agents when they're ready to sell.
If you use "Get it done" to request quotes, you are asking ChiHomework to share that request, the items you picked, your name, email, phone (if you give one), and your home's address, with the contractor or agent who sponsors that ZIP code for the relevant trade, so they can follow up with you. By submitting a request, you authorize us to do this on your behalf. ChiHomework is not a party to any work you agree to, is not a contractor, and does not guarantee any contractor's pricing, availability, licensing, or quality of work. Any agreement for services is between you and the contractor you choose to work with.
Mortgage lenders give us their NMLS number, and contractors give us a license number, when they sign up. Real estate agents may add one. We do not check any of them. Any number on a sponsor card is what the sponsor told us, not something we verified, and it is not an endorsement. We don't guarantee any license, its current status, or the work. Check the license yourself before you hire anyone.
Claiming a home requires that we can reasonably verify you against the county's owner-of-record data. What you add to a claimed home's record should be accurate to the best of your knowledge, other visitors, including a future owner, may see it.
We build each home's base record from county records and building permits and try to keep it current, but it may be incomplete or out of date. It is not an appraisal, an inspection, or a substitute for your own diligence, verify anything important before relying on it.

These Terms govern your use of ChiHomework (chihomework.com), a service of Panda Power L.L.C. ("ChiHomework", "we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to these Terms.
ChiHomework provides Cook County homeowners with a record for their home, built from Cook County assessor records and public permit records, which homeowners may claim and update. As a secondary service, ChiHomework helps homeowners connect with contractors and real estate agents for repairs, upgrades, and sales identified through the site.
When you submit a quote request through "Get it done" (on a home page, the /quote/ page, or your /manage/ dashboard), you authorize ChiHomework to share that request, the items selected, your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and your home's address, with the contractor or agent who sponsors your ZIP code for the relevant trade, so they may contact you about it. ChiHomework does not charge homeowners for this matching and does not control, supervise, or guarantee the work of any contractor or agent. You are solely responsible for vetting and contracting with any contractor or agent you choose to work with.
Mortgage lenders provide an NMLS number and contractors provide a license number at sign-up; real estate agents may provide one. ChiHomework does not check license numbers against any agency's records. A number shown on a sponsor card is as provided by the sponsor. Displaying a license number is not a representation that the license exists, is currently valid or covers the work you need, that the sponsor is qualified, or that ChiHomework endorses them. You are solely responsible for confirming a contractor's or agent's license with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (idfpr.illinois.gov), the Illinois Department of Public Health (dph.illinois.gov), or the licensing municipality, such as the City of Chicago Department of Buildings (chicago.gov/buildings), before hiring them.
The monthly rate of a sponsorship depends on the size of the ZIP code, as shown at checkout. Sponsorships started before the launch pricing end date shown at checkout are discounted through that date, and a coupon code entered at checkout can lower the rate for an introductory period in its place. When the discounted period ends, the sponsorship continues at the standard monthly rate until it is canceled. You can cancel at any time under Manage billing in your dashboard. ChiHomework may limit, change or end a promotional offer at any time, but doing so does not change the rate on a subscription that has already started.
By checking the SMS consent box at /advertise/, or by otherwise giving us your consent, you agree to receive automated text message notifications from ChiHomework about new leads from the ZIP code(s) you sponsor, at the mobile number you provide.
Message frequency varies and is not fixed. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message, any time, to opt out, you'll get one confirmation message and no further texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact hello@chihomework.com.
Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of sponsoring a ZIP code or using any other ChiHomework service. You represent that you own or are an authorized user of the mobile number you provide, with authority to give this consent. Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages. ChiHomework may suspend or discontinue the SMS program, or your participation in it, at any time.
You must be the owner (or an authorized representative of the owner) of a home to claim it. We verify claims against the county's owner-of-record data on a best-effort basis; a false claim does not remove or alter the home's existing seeded record, and we may reverse a claim we believe was made in error or bad faith. Content you add to a claimed home's record should be accurate; you are responsible for what you add.
The site and the records on it are provided "as is." We do not warrant that any record is complete, current, or error-free. Nothing on the site is an appraisal, a professional inspection, legal advice, or a guarantee of a home's condition or value, and nothing on the site creates a listing agreement or any obligation.
To the extent permitted by law, ChiHomework is not liable for damages arising from your use of the site, reliance on a record, or your dealings with any contractor matched through the site.
We may update these Terms as the site changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
